Happy Thanksgiving
It was so wonderful to have family over for Thanksgiving Day. My husband and I had stayed up the night before until really late making several dishes so that we could just kick back and relax on Turkey Day.
My husband loves to cook and he has so much fun during the holidays. He had been to the store about half a dozen times during the past few days picking up this and that and forgetting something and having to go back and back again.
It was kinda funny but he had to run out twice more during that late Wednesday night to get something else. The first time it was only 10:30 pm and we needed more butter. So, off he went to the local grocery store about 5 minutes from home. He got back and we finished off with the last of the special dishes we were making.
Then it came time to clean up the kitchen for the night. Oh no, we were down to the last roll of paper towels and it was 1:30 am! The only store still open was a 24 hour Walmart about 10 minutes away. So, off he went again. He got back about an hour later with a real horror story of just one checkout lane open combined with lots of last minute shoppers. He said he was standing in line with only two giant packages of paper towels thinking this was going to take awhile. But two very nice families took pity on him and let him go ahead of them with their overflowing carts and crying kids in-tow.
The family came over on Thursday afternoon bringing more food and pies. We had the most scrumptious feast ever while we laughed and talked.
It was a great day.
